01 the industry maintains a high level of operation

The growth rate of the industry returns rationally. In the first half of the year, the total business volume and business income of the postal industry reached 642.47 billion yuan and 614.39 billion yuan respectively, an increase of 34.4% and 22.2% respectively, an increase of more than 10 percentage points over the same period last year. Among them, the express business volume and revenue reached 49.39 billion pieces and 484.21 billion yuan, with a year-on-year increase of 45.8% and 26.6% respectively, both more than twice the growth rate of the same period last year. Affected by the low base during the epidemic last year, the development of the industry showed a trend of "high before low, and gradually return". The growth rate corrected month by month, and stabilized and rebounded in June.

The growth rate of postal delivery business slowed down. In the first half of the year, postal delivery business volume and business revenue reached 12.81 billion pieces and 19.31 billion yuan respectively, with business volume increasing by 0.5% year-on-year and business revenue decreasing by 10.5% year-on-year. The business volume of letters, parcels, remittances, newspapers and magazines decreased by 24.2%, 7.4%, 31.5%, 1.6% and 3.6% respectively year-on-year.

The increment of express delivery reached a new high. In the first half of the year, the net increase of express business was 15.51 billion, an increase of 9.39 billion over the same period last year. From April to June, the monthly net increment was 2billion, 1.84 billion and 2.27 billion respectively, and the monthly increase of 2billion became the new normal. The business volume in June was 9.74 billion pieces, exceeding the peak of the previous year. Except for February, the scale of each month was about 9 billion pieces. E-commerce intensive promotion, extended promotion period, and more balanced monthly distribution. It is used more frequently and serves 640million users per day in the whole industry. In the first half of the year, the per capita use of express mail was 35, an increase of 11 over the same period last year.

02 continuous improvement of business structure

Expansion of postal service functions. The postal express cooperation was promoted in villages, covering 21000 newly established villages, with a coverage rate of 16.4%. Serving the revitalization of rural areas, 9318 Tesco stations were added, achieving a sales volume of 6.57 billion yuan of agricultural products, an increase of 78.7% year-on-year, driving 970000 rural residents to increase their income by 1.18 billion yuan. The construction of the comprehensive postal service platform has been accelerated. The government mail cooperation has completed the settlement of the three-level government halls at the provincial, municipal and county levels or the docking of the government system. The police mail and tax mail cooperation outlets have reached 11000 and 18000 respectively, and the delivery volume has completed 48.193 million pieces.

The proportion of non local express business has increased. In the first half of the year, driven by the accelerated transfer of consumption to online, the integration of warehousing and distribution and the development of emerging e-commerce, the volume of non local express delivery business completed 41.84 billion pieces, an increase of 52.2% year-on-year, 6.4 percentage points higher than the overall growth rate of express delivery business, accounting for 84.7% of all express delivery business, an increase of 3.6 percentage points year-on-year, and the contribution rate to the overall growth of express delivery business reached 92.5%. The growth rate of intra city express business continued to rebound. In the first half of the year, the intra city express business volume completed 6.46 billion pieces, with a year-on-year increase of 14.9%, an increase of 4.3 percentage points over the same period last year.

The international express business has developed rapidly. In the first half of the year, the express business volume of international / Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan reached 1.09 billion pieces, with a year-on-year increase of 43.1%, and the business revenue reached 61.38 billion yuan, with a year-on-year increase of 33.2%. The import and export of postal (express) items by postal and express enterprises gradually recovered, of which the export volume increased by 41.7% year-on-year and the import volume increased by 50.6% year-on-year. Export mail (express) pieces are mainly concentrated in Europe, accounting for more than 50%, and import mail (express) pieces are mainly concentrated in Asia, accounting for more than 60%.

03 regional structure continues to be optimized

The proportion of express business in Central China continued to increase. In the first half of the year, the proportion of express business volume in eastern, central and western regions was 78.6%, 14.2% and 7.2% respectively, and the proportion of business revenue was 78.5%, 12.7% and 8.8% respectively. Compared with the same period last year, the express business volume and business income in the central region increased by 1.6 and 1.2 percentage points respectively. The contribution rate of Guangdong and Zhejiang in the eastern region to national growth was 48.2%. The growth rate of express business volume in Hubei, Jiangxi and Henan in the central region exceeded 60% year-on-year, and the growth rate was among the top five. Chengdu and Chongqing in the western region remain relatively stable.

The growth rate of urban express continues to differentiate. The proportion of express business volume in provincial capitals continued to decline. In the first half of the year, the total express business volume in 31 provincial capitals increased by 39.3% year-on-year, 6.5 percentage points lower than the national average growth rate, accounting for 35.5% of the national proportion, with a year-on-year decrease of 1.6 percentage points. Among them, 11 cities failed to be shortlisted in the top 50 in China. In terms of the top 10 cities, Beijing fell 3 places to rank 9th, Jieyang rose 1 place and Dongguan rose 2 places. Except for the top 10 cities, the gap between cities is relatively small, and the competitiveness of urban express delivery is in the cultivation stage.

04 market competition continues to intensify

Market concentration decreased. In the first half of the year, the brand concentration index CR8 of express and parcel services was 80.8, down 3.3 year-on-year and 0.9 year-on-year. The growth rate of head brands continues to differentiate, second and third tier brands continue to clear, and new brands are growing rapidly. Express enterprises have invested and financed more frequently, and the investment of leading enterprises has increased, mainly focusing on transportation capacity and industrial park construction (processing center), and the trend of heavy capitalization has solidified.

Express prices run low. In the first half of the year, the overall average unit price of express delivery was 9.8 yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 13.1%. Among them, the average unit price of non local express delivery decreased the fastest, with a year-on-year decrease of 17.7%. The average unit price of intra city and international express delivery decreased by 6.1% and 7% respectively. The average unit price of non local express delivery continued to be lower than the average unit price of intra City express delivery. However, in June, the average unit price in the same city, in different places and internationally increased by 0.11 yuan, 0.16 yuan and 1.9 yuan month on month, respectively. Among them, the unit price in different places rebounded significantly, increasing by 2.8% month on month, and the downward trend of the average unit price of express delivery was curbed.

05 key projects accelerated

"Express delivery to villages" has been rapidly promoted. Postal express enterprises take multiple measures to extend the service network and help accelerate the upward movement of agricultural products. Many successful models of high quality and sustainable operation have emerged in the process of promotion. Some regions have formed a sustainable development model led by the government, dominated by the market, superimposed brands, unified standards, and shared construction. The channels for farmers to increase their income have been broadened, and the cooperative enterprises have continued to make profits, realizing the overall win-win situation of industry development, public benefits, resource integration, and efficiency improvement.

"Express delivery into the factory" has a wide space. In the first half of the year, postal express enterprises actively expanded and explored supply chain business by virtue of their service network throughout urban and rural areas, advanced information and intelligent technology level and brand capital advantages, helping manufacturing enterprises reduce costs and increase efficiency. The main enterprises serve more than 1000 customers, covering many fields such as high-tech, automobile, FMCG, shoes and clothing, medicine, military and civilian integration, and the service level continues to improve from end-to-end delivery to warehousing and distribution integration and supply chain integration.
